Formed in 2009, Orders of the British Empire are a progressive post-rock band from North London. Taking influences form bands such as Mogwai, This Will Destroy You, Oceansize and Pelican. OBE aim to create a epic and powerful instrumental sound without falling neatly into the genre of traditional post-rock already occupied by other bands.
OBE have been playing regularly around London and the UK since late 2009 including touring with Alright the Captain in 2010 and in the last year have had the pleasure of playing with countless other great bands from the UK and beyond including Brontide, Union Sound Set, Let Our Enemies Beware, Aucan (Code 7), Khuda, Three Colours, Gin Panic, Hreda, Monsters Build Mean Robots and many more.
To date we have self released two EP’s “Rebuild” (2010) and “Act 2” (2011). “Act 2” can be streamed or purchased from our bandcamp site,
“Rebuild” is also available for free download.

The version of 'Every Country's Sun' is so grand and full of pride and loss that it should be over Match of the Day highlights when Scotland get kicked out of major football tournaments.

By far my favourite album from RTLS. I knew it, as the whole band, through We Lost the Sea recommendation and now RTLS has become my favourite band, passing WLTS. rgv
